POSITION SUMMARY

SGK Print, located in beautiful Western, Pennsylvania, has a full-time Graphic Communication Internship opening supporting our Operational Project Management Team for the Fall 2024 semester. The onsite internship with SGK Print requires a confident, independent, driven candidate who demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to make decisions and take responsibility for them. A well-suited candidate can react and adjust to changing conditions and come up with practical ideas quickly. There are challenges that must be handled with confidence and determination.The position requires a self-disciplined person who can handle details. This job requires self-assurance and a competitive drive. There is a strong demand for high-quality, organized and repeatable results. The responsibilities are broad, encompassing a variety of activities requiring shifts in priorities. This is primarily a task-focused role that encourages collaboration.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare project documentation in advance of production planning meetings and help compile notes to populate project plans throughout the project planning cycle.
  • Download and distribute updated system information regarding raw material availability, drop stock inventory, finished goods inventory levels, and project status.
  • Assist in entering work requests for ordering project materials, printing carton labels and instruction sheets, and generating production orders and job packets.
  • Collaborate with downstream production departments to support daily shop floor activity and provide updates against established project milestones.
  • Relay critical updates to project managers regarding various department schedules that may require strategic order sequencing.
  • Help project managers to achieve quality plans by supporting quality first-off inspections, in-process QC checks, and other QC tasks identified in the project planning phase.
  • Pull and update department performance data to populate KPI measurements - Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Value performance against goals.
  • Support project managers and account teams by pulling together monthly data to update client-facing KPI's such as on-time delivery, customer returns, and client-owned inventory stock-outs.
  • Update documentation that evolves as a result of continuous improvement initiatives, including standard work instructions, account alignments, and reference documents and templates.
  • Attend and participate in daily team meetings, monthly department meetings, as well as site committee meetings, and send out meeting minutes capturing actions and key takeaways.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports day-to-day operations of the Project Management department developing advanced understanding of all aspects of administration of the project functions including policies, procedures and processes.
  • Gains exposure to various assessments and resources
  • Primary focus will be working with and supporting the Operational Project Management department.
  • Helps create and develops timelines.
  • Provides assistance with special projects as needed.
  • Additional duties are assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Current enrollment in undergraduate degree program in a Graphic Communication related field at a recognized college or university.
  • High/Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong/Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong/Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid/Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
  • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. (Standard is 10lbs, modify as needed)
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
